Enhance Your Blues: A Cyanotype Coloring Play Session

Building on the beautiful blueprints you made in our last cyanotype workshop, this session is all about letting loose, exploring color, and simply enjoying the artistic process. No pressure, just good vibes, relaxation, and a chance for pure creative expression.

What’s Cyanotype Again? (A Quick Refresher)

Just in case, or for those new folks, cyanotype is that awesome old photographic process that gives us those cool, deep blue prints. Back in 1842, a guy named Sir John Herschel figured out how to use some iron-based chemicals that react to UV light. You just spread ’em on paper (or fabric!), expose them to the sun with something on top, wash ’em in water, and boom—you’ve got a unique blue image. It’s super chill, non-toxic, and creates dreamy results.

About This Workshop: Just Pure Artistic Fun!

So, you’ve got your gorgeous cyanotype prints, and now it’s time to play! This hands-on session isn’t about rigid learning or mastering complex techniques. Instead, think of it as an open studio where you can just experiment and see what magic happens. We’ll have some cool stuff ready for you to try, and you can simply follow your intuition to transform your blues into something truly unique.

Grab some watercolors, gouache, pens, or colored pencils and let your creativity flow. Add splashes of color, delicate details, or bold strokes—whatever feels right! There are no rules here, just an invitation to layer and enhance your prints with new hues.

Who’s this workshop for?

If you’ve joined us for a cyanotype workshop before and are looking for a relaxed, no-pressure space to get creative with your prints, this is it! No art experience is needed—just bring your prints and a willingness to play.

Please bring with you:

  • Your dried cyanotype prints, for example, from our previous session
  • Don’t have a cyanotype print yet? No problem! We can provide one for you. Just choose a blueprint option while buying a ticket (A4 or A3), and you’ll get one of the pre-made ones.

Unwind, connect with fellow creators, and simply enjoy the journey of turning your blueprints into personalized works of art!
