Description
A tumbler holding about 270 ml, thrown on a wheel, made of gold-yellow clay. Decorated with sgraffito technique. Whole cup is glazed with a clear glaze.
The gold-yellow clay I used as an experiment, and once the products made out of it are gone, they are gone. The porosity of this clay is ~2% even if high-fired (usually I use clay with porosity less than 1%, close to 0%). This makes me not so confident it can be safely washed in the dishwasher. Nevertheless, the item is made of food safe materials.
It’s not intended and unlikely, but if during use you notice that the glaze coating has little, hair-like cracks – consider not using the pot for food or sterilize it regularly (e.g. by washing in a dishwasher). Even though the pot does not contain toxic substances, small cracks may collect food residue and encourage some microorganisms to grow there -although, there was a research confirming that simple dishwasher prevents this to happen. This maintenance advice is applicable to any pottery, not only mine 🙂

I make the items by hand, so they are not perfectly even and smooth, and no two pieces are identical. The appearance of the product is visible in the photos and sometimes the attached video. If something isn’t visible or looks suspicious – ask!
