Description

A maximalistic thumbler (or pot cover, or sugar bowl…), with unicorn and hearts applications and a “Money first, customer eventually” qoute at the bottom. Holding about 300ml, inner diameter 8,7cm, thrown on a wheel, made of beige clay. Light blue glaze with gold and rainbow accents for more sparkle and positivity!

NOTE: There is a dent on a rim that happend at the very end of initial drying stage (it lost the handle back then as well… and became a thumber from a mug). I smoothen it out and it makes a a place for a spoon or brush to rest (if you look at that positively) or is a visual and functional flaw.

It’s part of the motivational series of mugs inspired remotely by “Kuce” series of Dem, my thoughts and qoutes of some other less and more known people 😉 Cuteness and glamour of rainbow, sparkles and gold meeting the daily side of life.

Items covered with metal (gold, white gold, titanium) or rainbow-like details are in total fired 3 times. The decorative layer of metal is added on already glazed and fired piece (at this stage it’s a smelly and toxic liquid) and then it’s need to be fired at 700-800 degrees when it chemically turns into an actual real metal coating.

The pot is made of  non-porous clay and fired at a high enough temperature to guarantee ceramic mass to be well sealed (so it does not absorb water/detergents). Suitable for washing in the dishwasher – although be aware that the metal application may require a gentle treatment and should not be put into a microvave (as any metal :)). Made of food safe materials.

It’s not intended and unlikely, but if during use you notice that the glaze coating has little, hair-like cracks – consider not using the pot for food or sterilize it regularly (e.g. by washing in a dishwasher). Even though the pot does not contain toxic substances, small cracks may collect food residue and encourage some microorganisms to grow there -although,  there was a research confirming that simple dishwasher prevents this to happen. This maintainence advice is applicable to any pottery, not only mine 🙂

I make the items by hand, so they are not perfectly even and smooth, and no two pieces are identical. The appearance of the product is visible in the photos and sometimes the attached video. If something isn’t visible or looks suspicious – ask!
